The Father Christmas Letters' were a collection of letters which were written and illustrated by Tolkien for his children between 1920 and 1943. The letters are believed to have inspired some of Tolkien's most famous work,'The Lord of the Rings'.In the publisher's original pictorial hardback. In the publisher's original pictorial hardbacks. Externally very smart with bumping and slight wear to the extremities, edge wear and slight marks to the boards with remnants of a label to the rear. Light spotting and closed tears to the endpapers. Internally firmly bound with an ink inscription to the half title.
Lightly age toned pages with the odd spot and mark. Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear.
Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy. Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones. Often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy. Some more serious faults as will. Be described in the condition report under'condition.Good Only - Meaning one or more faults that could really do with repair. As with good only above but with other faults.
