LORD OF THE RINGS Trilogy Box Set by J. Tolkien in overall Very Good condition. Published in 1965 by Houghton Mifflin Company, stated second edition on title page; Book 1 is a 12th printing, and Books 2 & 3 are 11th printing.

The slipcase is fully intact but shows considerable fading at the edges and is missing the paper label on the back side; there's a little bit of soiling on the inside corners. All volumes are bound in black cloth with embossed title and emblem on the spines and front covers; bindings are still square and corners sharp. Dust jackets show a little edge wear and moderate fading to the spines. All 3 volumes still have the maps attached to the rear endpaper.

3 probably has the worst appearance with a large soiled area at the top of the fore edge. See all photos for more details.
