This is a rare and valuable edition of J. Tolkien's classic fantasy novel, The Lord of the Rings. This is the first authorized edition published by Ballantine in 1965. Volume one : third printing, November, 1965.

Volume two : Second printing, November, 1965. Volume One : First printing, December, 1965. The set has the original rare green. The set is in good/ very good condition. Paperback, all pages are clean and solidly bound.

Light tone pages related to age. Volume Three : pages number 295 and 297 have a tiny tape at the edges.

The cover of volume one has light creased and minor edge wear to the spine. The covers have light signs of used: minor rubbing, soiled and creased also the slipcase has light rubbing and edge wear.
