"Father Giles of Ham" error among list of works, should be "Farmer Giles", broken type on right-hand edge of lower paragraph of page 229. During the print-run some type broke causing some letters at the right-hand side to appear half-missing, page 330 no period after "Feanor", "and" in italics between "Lord of Waters" and "King of the Sea", making it appear as if the two titles are one title.

Near Fine in Very Good+ Dust Jacket. Generally a nice copy, some soiling to edges of the jacket and some fraying but no tears or chips. A difficult book to find in perfect condition. Edition Information : "The Lord of the Rings", essentially one long novel issued in three parts, was a kind of sequel to "The Hobbit" (1937).

It was first published in the US and UK in 1955-6. Alan Lee began contributing new cover artwork to editions issue in the late 1980's, and eventually some of his artwork would influence "The Lord of the Rings" film series directed by Peter Jackson.
