READ Lord Of The Rings Book Set Hardcover JRR Tolkien 2nd Edition Box Set withMaps

This is for a lot of Lord of the Rings books. Here's what you're getting. The Lord of the Rings - Revised Edition - 2nd Edition. These are hardback books with slipcovers, they go in a larger box. The Box is Dated 1978.

Titles include: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King. Each book includes a paper map near the back. Books have added color to the top (see photos).

The pages are very clean, the books are holding together very well! It was overall well taken care of, but each book has some flaws. Pages for the most part are near flawless.

Bindings good, nothing falling out. I saw no writing, dog ear folding, or any damage to pages except noted below. (possible I missed something small). Box structure good, it holds the books just fine.

Major Issue: Covers on each book have what look to be mold on them. Ex Libris stickers on each book - found on the inside front cover of all 3. Fellowship dust cover has some rips near the bottom. Dust covers on all have some minor wear, light crinkling, minor tears, light discoloration due to age. Dust covers, the reverse side, has some staining mostly seen on the book's end (middle).

Light spotting seen on paper edges when books are closed. Fellowship cover emblem on front has wear. Fellowship has 4 pages that I saw that have small orange stains. Around "Book 1" page, Page 31. These stains are nowhere near the top, but may be due to the color added to the top. (Just my theory, I do not know). Return of the King the top purple has bled into the first few pages. The box has visible wear, scuffs, tears, scratches, marks, etc. This set has a musty smell to it / maybe beyond an old book smell. Note: I describe all I see, I may have missed something small. I'm honestly sad about the mold issue. I assume it's mold, not sure what else it could be. The books are in overall good shape in my opinion, pages mostly good! Tolkien The Authorized Biography - by Humphrey Carpenter. Hardback book with dust cover. Overall a good book, a good reader copy at the very least.
