Dust jacket tanned and rubbed, with some surface abrasions and small losses to the extremities. The Return of the King: Damp staining to the bottom edges of the boards and spine, with some color bleed to the inner margins of the preliminary and terminal leaves, not affecting the text, and to the jacket blindside. Upper gilt fairly bright; lower gilt dulled but still legible.Prior owner's name in ink to the front free endpaper but no other writing. Free endpapers tanned except where protected by the jacket flaps.
Mild foxing to the preliminary and terminal leaves, with the interior pages clear. Tiny hole to the upper-right corner of the last page through the rear free endpaper, not affecting the text or map. Dust jacket tanned and rubbed, with some damp staining to the spine. It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door.
